Makeup Essentials for College

Hi girls :D So back to school season is up and this means you need to be prepare to go shopping. You go to buy school essentials like notebooks, backpacks, etc. Also yo go clothing shopping because you need and personally I need to buy new clothes to look cute, jeje, but you can't forget the makeup. Even if you don't wear a lot of makeup like me, it's still good to go makeup shopping. In this post, I'm going to show and talk about the most basic makeup essentials that I would use in college. If you are not in college, you can still buy this thing and use them because they are like basic makeup. You can go either drugstore or high brand makeup. Also I'm going to write about 3 to 5 makeup tips  that I do and I know that you will do them, if you do them already.

I hope you like this post and here it goes:

MAKEUP:

1. Basic Palette: You never can't go wrong with a natural makeup for college or even school. Using matte colors and brown colors can give you that natural color you want. A perfect pallete for this is the Urban Decay Naked Basic Palette but if you like drugstore makeup the Beautiful Browns Palette from ELF.

2. Eye lid primer: This is a must have if you're going with eye makeup. A primer helps your eye shadow to  stay longer and not break out. If you're not putting on eye shadow, just wear it and you won't have oily llids, that's what I do. Also there's drugstore and high brand primer. I really like the ELF primer and it just cost $1and for one dollar, it really works. ** I haven't use the Urban Decay one so I can say which I like better.

3. Eyeliner: For college, I really like to use a pen eyeliner or a gel eyeliner, sometimes I use both for it to stay longer throughout the whole day. If you want a more natural look,  just put a line but not to thick, close to the top lashes. I personally use the Scandaleyes Eyeliner from Maybelline and for gel eyeliner one from Forever 21 but you can use your favorite gel eyeliner.

4. Mascara: For a more complete look, apply some mascara to your lashes and you're done. You can wear black or brown mascara. I really like the Clumps Crusher from Covergirl because it extends your lashes and leave them without any clumps.

5. Eyebrow kit: Having well- defined eyebrows can make your face look defined and it accentuates your whole face. If you don't want to wear makeup, just do your eyebrows and you're ready to go. You can also use a eye pencil to do your eyebrows. For eyebrow kit use the ELF Eyebrow Kit and  it's only $ 1.

6. BB Cream: Use BB cream instead of foundation because it's more light on your face for college. Your makeup routine will be short because this have all protection products in one. The Maybelline Dream Fresh BB Cream is perfect and personally I really like it.

7. Powder: Set up your face routine with a powder. It can be your favorite powder. I recommend also to use a translucent powder and the best one I know is the ELF High Definition Translucent Powder. The translucent powder will keep your face matte and for pictures is perfect.

8. Concealer: To hide dark circles and to brighten up your face. Use a lighter tone for under your eyes and a tone more similar to your skin color to hide blemishes. There are liquid concealers and  cream ones. The Benefit Boing Concealer is perfect.

9. Blush: A non shimmery blush is perfect for back to school because it gives that glowy color on your cheeks but without looking like your trying to hard. Wet and Wild blushes are good because they're matte and are really pigmented.

10. Bronzer: Also use a non shimmery or a matte bronzer. You want to look like you have a little bit of tan but no to much. ELF Bronzer and NARS bronzer are the best bronzers I know.

11. Lips: Use a lip balm or stain. For college use a light pink color or a nude one. It can have a little bit of shimmer. Maybelline Baby Lips are a must have for this essentials or the Covergirl Smoochies.

Now for the tips:

1. Don't forget to moistirize your face before putting on your makeup.

2. Bring a small makeup bag with a few makeup products in case of an emergency and you need to re-touch your makeup.

3. Don't overdo your makeup for college. Try to look as natural as posible. If you like to have more makeup on your face that's fine also. Every girl has her own style.

4. Remove your makeup right away when you arrive form school.

That's all for this post. I hope you like it and I hope it helps you doing your makeup for college or school.

XOXO

What's In NOW: Overalls

Happy Schnapper: Fashion - Overall Revival

Hi girls. I'm starting a new blog series called What's In Now. This series is basically telling you what is trending in the fashion world. I'm going to tell you a little bit of information about the trend and show you ideas on how to wear the trends and also where can you get them.

So this Summer 2013 and through this month of August the trend has been overalls. The overalls or another name for this, trousers, were used a lot in the 80s and 90s as a type of clothing to put over a top or shirt and now is been use in the same way. In the 90s, they were used as uniforms for work that's why they were made out of denim material. Now you can see them in different styles, material, patterns. There's also shortalls, overalls but shorter. And not to forget the skirt style. These overalls, trousers, shortalls, are attached with a front patch that covers the front area of the stomach leaving the chest area open or uncovered and they have also shoulder straps.

I have seen this fashion clothing everywhere from Las Vegas, California and here in Puerto Rico that I think I'm going to buy one before this trend ends and even though it end I'm going to wear them because I like them.

Now onto the outfits ideas: ( The photos are from Pinterest.com)

Overalls!

EDGY LOOK: Use a distressed overall to achieve this look. For more edgyness, don't put on both of the straps just one, like in the picture. You can add some accessories like a jacket to your hips, some colorful shoes and even boots.

overalls.

PROFESSIONAL LOOK: Who said you can't wear overalls to work? You can and how? Well, just use a solid color for the overall and with a soft material. Use colors that are basic and are colors for a regular work. Put some high heels and a nice bag and you are DONE and FABULOUS.
**You can use this look for a job interview because this will catch the attention of the person interviewing you and see that you do have an eye for fashion.

overalls!!! love them!!!
CASUAL LOOK: If you're going for a walk, to the beach, and even shopping this look is good for that. Overalls or shortalls are good for this look but I prefer the shortalls just because they are more lighter and fresh. A natural makeup, some flats or sandals and a side handbag or backpack are the finishing touch for this look.

leather overalls
CHIC LOOK: If you like to dress more chic, here's the perfect look on how to use an overall. Add a more dressy blouse underneath the overall. Add those dressy jewerly like a big necklace or earrings. Do a smokey aye makeup, put some heels and you are ready to go out.

#overalls #fashion #style #summer #hat

FUN LOOK: For a fun look instead of use a solid overall or shortall, use a printed one. Mix the prints of the overall with a cute top.

VINTAGE LOOK: This look is perfect for fall because of the colors. To achieve this look to the max, use brown colors, fall colors. You can use some lace, leggings or some solid color see through leggings. Add some brown boots or brown oxfords to finish your whole outfit.

That's all for this post. I hope you like.

What do you think is another fashion piece that's trending now? Would you like for me to do a post about that?

THANK YOU

Disclaimer: All said here is my opinion and from my pretty head except the information about the overalls. I research overalls in google and mix them adding words of my own. :D

June/July Favorites

June/July Favorites

Hello there! First of all I want to say sorry again for not posting many blog posts in the month of July. I was on vacation in Las Vegas for three weeks and I barely used my laptop. Ah! Before I forget, I'm going to do a post about my vacations and show you guys my favorites places that I liked from Las Vegas and some of my outfits. Continuing, for the month of June, I didn't do my favorites because I was waiting to do like a summer favorites. Almost the same favorites from June were the same as in July so I just mixed them and here are my summer favorites!

- Victoria's Secret Splash in Vanilla Lace: I have been using this splash like everyday so its been like my everyday smell. I like the vanilla scent and to smell like is wonderful. This splash was giving me as a gift from a good friend for my birthday and I have to say that when it runs out, I'm going to buy some more maybe 2 or three to have it when one run out.

- Fructis Garnier Morrocan Oil Treatment:  This product really helps my roots stay fresh and shiny. I don't have to worry about dry roots anymore. Another thing that I like about this product is the smell. I apply this product whenever I wash my hair so is just like 3 times a week or so. I recommend this product or any other product that has or its made out of moroccan oil to curly hair girls because it really works out on those curls.

- Loreal' Sleek Serum: This product came in my boxycharm from June and I have been using it since. Here in Puerto Rico between the hot weather and the humidity, my hair can have a little bit of frizz so this product calm down my frizz. It really works and I'm definitely going to buy it.

- Rimmel Fix and Perfect Primer  in 002: This product has saved my life from having an oily face or maybe just keeping it down a bit. I saw a youtube blogger using this primer because she have oily skin so I thought I could try it and I have to say that I LOVED IT! It makes my face matte with all of my beauty products that I put on my face. I recommend this to all those oil skin girls who have nightmares about their face and this is including me, jaja.

- Covergirl Natureluxe Glossy Balm in Hibiscus: This lip color is a lip balm and have shine and at the same time it gives you a little bit of color, for my lips is like a nude color. I used this lip balm a while ago but I put it to the side  for a while to try the baby lips and I have to say that I like more this Covergirl lip balm than the maybelline baby lips I don't know how. I have another one of this glossy balm in like a red color.

- Rimmel Scandaleyes eyeliner in brown and black:  I used this two eyeliners while I was in Las Vegas. This eyeliner are waterproof so from the heat in Las Vegas that sometimes was in 117 degrees, this eyeliner never came off. I apply it and the top line and at the bottom waterline and it gave me a really cute simple aye makeup.

- Nikon Coolplix Camera:  I used this camera to take photos like a lot. I've never used this camera so much like this summer. I really like how the photos were taken at daytime and nightime. Sometimes I had trouble with the camera but then it fixed it itself.

So that's all my summer favorites. I hope you like. I'm going to upload a video on my youtube channel and you can check it out. I will post here as an  update the video so you guys can see it. My youtube channel is called Versace of Curvy  but look for me as Gina Liard and you can find me.
